The Akufo-Addo who pleaded for Prez’s position has now become arrogant and speaks with impunity – Buaben Asamoa

Former member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buaben Asamoa has expressed shock at the recent behaviour of President Akufo-Addo.

He averred that the Akufo-Addo who went about begging people to vote for him and try him as president has allowed the power he won to consume him.

He said using the Akufo-Addo presidency as a case study, one would conyde that power indeed changes people.

Power changes people because the Akufo-Addo who went around begging people to try him and elect as president is no longer the man we knew in previous years.

Reacting to how the president spoke at the final rally organized by the NPP ahead of the Ejisu by-election, Yaw Buaben Asamoa said the president goofed.

He said the way the president was speaking was unfortunate and did not show a sign of a good leader.

He noted that going into an election, you have to appeal to the voters amd not to spoke in a tone which shows someone who is drunk for power.

President Akufo-Addo at the rally took a swipe at former NPP for the area Aduomi asking to stop peddling lies about the NPP.

He slammed him for taking credit for the construction of some roads on the constituency.

He said he (Nana Addo) was the only one who can take credit for roads done in the area because he was the president and superintendent over every single project on the country and that nobody else could take credit for that.

Yaw Buaben Asamoa on his response expressed shock wondering how the president has allowed power to consume him to the point of speaking in such a manner.

“Power can transform individuals, as evidenced by the fact that the Akufo-Addo who went around begging for votes is not the same man we see today. He has acquired features that were not before present in him. It was awful to hear how he spoke in Ejisu and what statements he made. He spoke arrogantly. This is an election, and you must appeal to the people in order to win their votes. You do not have to speak arrogantly or impudently. When all of these factors are considered, it is clear that power has the ability to influence people.

So, if you do not elect a godly person as president, you will be consumed by the power you hold. I cannot say for certain whether his connection with God has been affected, but I can infer that Alan Kyerematen is a Christlike leader. He has publicly said this. He is a passionate, unselfish leader who is not egotistical. He will be a different leader who values the people who have given him power,” he said in an interview on Rainbow Radio 92.4FM, UK via a telephone interview.
