Political analyst Alex Emmanuel Nti described Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s suggestion that President Akufo-Addo is a superior president to Dr. Kwame Nkrumah as “political talk.”
He believes we shouldn’t be concerned about it.
He stated that the record of the late Kwame Nkrumah and President Akufo-Addo is indisputable.
He said Ghanaians are aware that the achievements of Akufo-Addo are nowhere near Kwame Nkrumah.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Mr. Nti opined that it is a political strategy the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has deployed so the media will talk about it and make it more popular.
“The NPP has a strategy for running their campaign. If you have observed, over the years, the party has always said something ambiguous and controversial, so it will generate discussions about them to make them more popular. The more you discuss someone, the more the person becomes popular. That is a strategy Bawumia uses, and he has selected someone who is also fond of making such claims.
In the comments he made yesterday, we are all aware of the achievements between Kwame Nkrumah and President Akufo-Addo. We know the projects between these two administrations. We know clearly that the administration of Kwame Nkrumah did not create a challenge for us to go through a debt restructuring programme and haircuts on investments. The record of Kwame Nkrumah did not create a high rate of unemployment; the record of Nkrumah did not increase inflation to 54%.
The record of Kwame Nkrumah did not create problems in the energy sector or a situation where players in the sector were also given haircuts and a whole lot of other things.
Mr. Alex Emmanuel Nti stressed that how can you even compare your record to that of Kwame Nkrumah? But I believe he has to get something to say so Ghanaians will also discuss him. He has expressed an opinion, but Ghanaians are aware of the situation the Nana Addo and Bawumia administration has created in this country. It is just political talk, and they (the Ghanaians) should not take it seriously.
