The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, says a new government under his leadership will extend the validity of a driver’s license to up to 10 years.
According to him, the current system is inconvenient and senseless.
Drivers are required by law to renew their licenses every two years.
But the Vice President, speaking as part of this campaign tour at Akwatia in the Eastern Region, announced that the current system creates inconveniences for drivers and must be extended.
“We are all drivers, and our driver’s licenses expire every two years, is that not true? Unless you go to the DVLA to renew it, why? “We’re saying let’s extend it for eight or ten years.”
Let’s make sure we can get our driver’s licenses without having to go renew them every year; it doesn’t make sense,” he said.
