The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has consistently used propaganda to deceive residents in the Volta region that the umbrella family has done nothing for them.
Mr. Mahama indicated that the NPP has over the years been making gains in the region, and because of that, they are now using propaganda that the residents vote for the NDC all the time without any gains.
He said that even though the region has gained some projects under the NDC, ‘’the propaganda is so strong that we actually believe that the NDC has done nothing. And yet, if you take the Volta region, electricity, water, education, health, and roads. Everything you find here in the Volta region was provided during the time of the NDC. And anytime the NPP comes into government, the development of infrastructure in the Volta region comes to a halt till the NDC comes back’’.
He asserted that the NPP keeps stealing when it comes to power, waits when it is time for elections, and goes around giving money to residents to deceive them.
He underscored the need for the residents to focus on a party that will invest in the people and promote lasting development that will benefit the current and next generations.
