The Electoral Commission (EC) has disclosed that its officer for the Afadzato South District has been questioned by the police regarding election materials that were found in his private car.
The EC said the officer was questioned for transporting the electoral materials in his private vehicle without an escort.
A statement issued by the EC disclosed that the materials were retrieved by the police.
The EC stated that per its policy, all electoral officers are required to transport all the electoral materials in the official vehicles with police escort.
According to the EC, although the officer breached the policy of the EC, it will in no way compromise the integrity of the elections.
