Voting in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections has officially ended across the over 40,000 polling centres in Ghana.
The counting of votes is currently underway at various polling stations.
A total of 18,774,159 voters were expected to participate in the elections.
The process was marred with incidents in the death of an individual at Nyankpala in the Northern Region.
Several others were also injured as a result of the shooting incident.
The Ghana Police Service arrested four individuals in connection with the shooting incident.
The four arrested individuals are Majid Issah, Fodi Issiage Kamara, Yakubu Simalia, and Alhaji Bashiru Mohamed.
There have also been instances of alleged ballot stuffing and allegations of vote-buying.
Meanwhile, the service is on a manhunt for a suspect who allegedly shot another in the leg at Awutu Senya East.
The suspect has been identified as Mujaheed Suraj, alias NIMS.
The incident occurred at the Awutu Senya East constituency in the Central Region.
The suspect, according to the police, absconded, leaving behind his vehicle, which is currently at the police station.
