The New Patriotic Party’s incumbent Member of Parliament for Yendi, Farouk Aliu Mahama, has lost the seat.
He lost the seat to the candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Per the provisional results, Abdul-Fataw Alhassan of the NDC polled 30,707 votes.
Farouk Aliu Mahama polled 29,819 of the valid votes cast.
