A 26-year-old man has been apprehended for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with two pregnant sheep.
The incident occurred at Anwiaso, a community in the Ashanti Region.
According to Malik Anokye, reporting on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, community members had been monitoring the young man after noticing his frequent visits to the sheepfold every evening.
Initially, they were unsure of his intentions until he was caught in the act.
Subsequently, he was accused of impregnating the sheep.
The individual was then taken to the chief’s palace, where he faced sanctions and was fined.
Traditional rites were performed by the traditional authority to pacify the community, as they claimed he had brought calamity upon them.
The chief and his elders slaughtered animals and used their blood to perform the pacification ritual.
Furthermore, he was required to compensate for the sheep he allegedly engaged with, which were subsequently killed and buried.
Prior to being sent to the Chief’s palace, he was physically assaulted by those who apprehended him, resulting in injuries that caused bleeding.
Malik Anokye stated that the pregnant sheep were killed and buried, as the Chief and his elders believed that sparing their lives would bring bad luck and calamity upon the community.
