President John Dramani Mahama has pledged support to persons affected by the fire outbreak at the Central Business District of Adum in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
He made the pledge when he visited the area to assess the level of destruction caused by the outbreak.
The fire, which broke out in the early hours of Friday, March 21, left traders distraught as they struggled to salvage their goods amidst the chaos.
The President interacted with affected traders, expressed his sympathy, and pledged his support.
He further called for a thorough investigation into the cause of the outbreak.
Meanwhile, he has advised the traders not to cook in the market as the use of cylinders was a contributing factor to the incident.
It has also emerged that the fire was fueled by flammable materials stored in the shops, making it easier for it to spread faster.
