Several students from Ben Kunadu SDA Basic School in Asante Akyem are feared dead following an accident.
The school bus carrying the students crashed on the Aseseeso stretch between Adukrom and Somanya.
Details emerging indicate that the bus, carrying 62 children on an excursion to Akosombo, reportedly lost control while descending a hill and somersaulted before landing on its side.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Awatey, has joined rescue efforts while on her way to work.
The students who sustained injuries have been rushed to the Yilo Krobo hospital for medical care. Police, Fire Service, and Ambulance teams are at the scene, working to recover trapped victims.
