Executive Director of the Centre for Public Opinion and Awareness (CenPOA), Michael Donyinah Mensah, has declared the petitions filed against Sammy Gyamfi, the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Gold Board, over his dolark gift to Agradaa as needless.
The policy analyst stated that the minority in Parliament said the caucus is overstretching the matter.
He posited that the president has made a decision about the matter, and it should end the issue once and for all.
The minority in Parliament has formally petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, and the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to probe the controversial dollar gift involving the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi.
The petitions filed by the minority come after President Mahama cautioned Sammy Gyamfi and further revealed no further action would be taken against him following his apology.
But the minority says the move was unfortunate and that Sammy Gyamfi ought to be investigated.
The NPP MPs said that the findings of these investigations should inform any conclusive decision by the president regarding Gyamfi’s future in public office.

Reacting to this, Donyina Mensah insisted that the matter had been dealt with, and Sammy Gyamfi cautioned.
He admitted that Sammy Gyamfi erred and took action against him, stressing that the agenda by the NPP was much ado about nothing.
Mr Donyina Mahama stated that Sammy Gyamfi had expected the father to happen to put President Mahama in a very tight situation since a section of the Ghanaian public had demanded his suspension or dismissal.
