Supreme Court nominee Justice Senyo Dzamefe has supported the need for judges to declare their assets in accordance with the Constitution just like any other public office holder.
He asserted that judges are just like other public officials and must not be excluded from asset declaration.
Appearing before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Monday, June 16, 2025, Justice Dzamefe affirmed that the judiciary should not be exempt from the constitutional requirement of asset declaration.
“If the law says all government appointees should declare their assets, and judges are government appointees, why not? They have to declare their assets,” he said.
In responding to the question of whether he has already declared his asset, the nominee responded in the affirmative saying “Yes, Mr. Chairman.”
