Founder of MILLS (Mindset, Integrity, Loyalty, Leadership & Service Institute), Koku Anyidoho has condemned the violent incidents that marred the rerun in 19 polling stations in the Ablekuma North constituency.
He condemned the attacks on political figures and journalists and described them as unfortunate.
Mr. Anyidoho stands by the position of Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, National Chairman of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and NDC General Secretary, Fiifi Kwetey, for condemning the violence.
Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang a few days ago condemned the acts of violence that occurred during the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun.
In a post shared on Facebook, while congratulating Ewurabena Aubynn for what she described as a “decisive victory,” the Vice President expressed concern over the disturbances that marred parts of the electoral exercise.
“We also witnessed some unfortunate incidents at that election,” she stated.
“While it is good to be interested in the direction our country is taking, we should not allow our passion to devolve into violence.”

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized. “Let us get to a place where elections are, by default, orderly and even ordinary events.”
Mr. Nketiah also condemned the incident and called for those behind it to be punished.
Reacting to the issue, Mr. Anyidoho underscored the need for authorities to deal with those who engaged in the lawlessness.
He also posited that “the politics of retribution should not be allowed to continue because it is dangerous and a threat to our democracy”.
He further warned that if the situation was not addressed, it would create a situation we would not be able to deal with.
“If it is not curbed, in the future it can degenerate into something worse and we will not be able to manage it. The politics of retribution should not be allowed to continue without caution.”
He added that “The viscous cycle will not help our democracy so we need astute leadership to make a genuine difference in our politics.
According to him “The little sparks of fire can turn into a lasting inferno and we don’t want that to happen in Ghana.”
“My heart goes out to all who suffered attacks and for me, the swift response from the Police Hierarchy in dealing with the Police Officer who assaulted a journalist is extremely encouraging”.
