A prison officer’s lifeless body has been discovered in River Pompo at Pomposo, a suburb within the Obuasi East District of the Ashanti Region.
The deceased, Constable Clement Tei Gyabah, was found in the river alongside his motorbike, with the circumstances surrounding the incident still unclear.
Details indicate that the officer was last seen riding his motorcycle to work around 5 am on Wednesday, July 30, from Asokore while it was drizzling.
Some speculate that he deviated from the road and collided with a concrete barricade, while others believe he was struck by a moving vehicle, resulting in fatal injuries.
The police have retrieved the body and deposited it at the morgue pending further investigation.
