In a heartfelt tribute to the eight people who died in a helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, Minister of Government Communications Felix Kwakye called on Ghanaians to honor their sacrifice by recommitting to unity, integrity, and national service.
Speaking at a memorial held at the State House on Saturday, August 9, Kwakye described the victims as “eight brave souls whose lives were tragically cut short in service to our nation.” He acknowledged the risks they took in their roles.
“They answered the call to serve, facing the inherent risks that come with safeguarding our national peace and progress,” he said. “Their tragic passing in the line of duty represents the ultimate sacrifice, a stark reminder of the immense personal cost borne by those who stand ready to serve our nation.”
Kwakye urged the nation to let the memory of the victims inspire positive action. “From this somber reflection emerges a powerful national call to action. Let us never forget their courage, their commitment, and the supreme price they paid. Let their legacy inspire us to uphold the ideals of service, integrity, and patriotism that they exemplified.”
