Member of Parliament for Weija Gbawe and Second Deputy Minority Whip, Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib, will from Monday, April 27, to Wednesday, April 30, 2025, tour schools in his constituency to engage final-year students preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The initiative, dubbed “Buckle Up to School with the MP”, is aimed at “encouraging and motivating our candidates ahead of this important milestone in their academic journey”, the MP said.

As part of the visit, Hon. Shaib will present each BECE candidate with a pair of sandals produced within the Weija-Gbawe Constituency.

“This is not only to support our students but also to promote and celebrate local enterprise,” he stated, noting that the sandals are “proudly Ghana-made”.

The MP said he looks forward to “engaging with the students, sharing words of encouragement, and wishing them success in their upcoming examinations.”

The BECE is a key national exam that determines placement into senior high schools and technical institutions across Ghana.

Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib currently serves as MP for Weija Gbawe and Second Deputy Minority Whip in Parliament.
