An emergency mission is currently in progress at the North Industrial Area following the collapse of a building early this morning, Sunday, June 7, which has left a minimum of two individuals pinned under the wreckage.
The structure came down at approximately 4:25 a.m., prompting an immediate and coordinated response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the Ghana Police Service, and the Ghana Armed Forces.
According to initial accounts from bystanders at the scene, one casualty has successfully been pulled from the ruins and quickly transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Meanwhile, emergency crews are working tirelessly to find and free the remaining individuals thought to be stuck beneath the crumbled concrete.
First responders, including firefighting teams from both the Circle Fire Station and the GNFS Headquarters, arrived swiftly at the location and are utilizing specialized rescue tools to carry out a rigorous search operation.
To ensure the safety of the public and give emergency personnel the necessary space to conduct their life-saving work, authorities have sealed off the surrounding perimeter.
