Accra floods force Ghana School of Law to halt Today’s examinations

The management of the Ghana School of Law (GSL) has put today’s examinations on hold following heavy morning rainfall and widespread flooding across Accra.

The severe weather conditions have heavily impacted many parts of the capital, including the institutional examination centre itself. In a joint decision with the chair of the Independent Examinations Committee (IEC), school management announced that examinations will not commence until conditions improve and it is entirely safe for students to travel.

Emergency response launched as heavy rain causes flooding in Capital

GSL Registrar Juliet Mavis Adu-Adjei issued a strong advisory urging the student body to prioritize their personal safety over the scheduled papers.

The administration emphasised that no student will be penalized or left at a disadvantage due to the disruptions caused by the severe weather, reassuring candidates that the situation is being handled fairly.

Should the examinations proceed later today, officials promised that a sufficient grace period will be provided to ensure everyone has enough time to commute safely once the weather clears.

Students are advised to continuously monitor their official emails, phones, WhatsApp, and the school’s official website and social media channels for real-time updates as the administration continues to evaluate the situation.

“No student should risk their safety by travelling through heavy rain or floodwaters in an attempt to reach the examination centre,” Registrar Juliet Mavis Adu-Adjei stated in the official notice.

“No student will be disadvantaged with respect to the examinations as a result of this act of God, namely the heavy rainfall and flooding currently being experienced. Your safety remains our highest priority”.
