Alex King Nartey, a member with the Public Relations Department of the Ghana National Fire Service, confirmed the incident.

He stated that the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, as local residents do not appear to recognise him.

The severe rainfall also caused extensive damage to vehicles and other property across the area.

This latest discovery brings the total flood-related death toll to two in teg area.

Earlier, the Greater Accra Regional branch of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) confirmed the death of an adult male who was electrocuted.

In that instance, the individual had initially been saved from the floodwaters by rescuers, but sneaked back into his room to salvage his television, where he was subsequently found electrocuted.
