The Oblogo Health Centre in the Weija Gbawe Municipality has received a major upgrade following the commissioning of a new Wellness and Adolescent Clinic to enhance healthcare delivery for young people.
Constructed by Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib, Member of Parliament for Weija Gbawe and Second Deputy Minority Whip, the facility was officially handed over on Friday, 7 August 2026.
Welcoming guests at the event, the Weija Gbawe Municipal Health Director, Dr Mrs Jennifer Mintah Andoh, described the clinic as a timely intervention that will expand access to quality, adolescent-friendly health services.
Dr Andoh noted that the facility directly addresses pressing adolescent health needs whilst strengthening the directorate’s broader preventive health agenda, praising Hon. Shaib for his investment in local health infrastructure.
Reassuring stakeholders of the directorate’s commitment to smooth operations, she stated: “The Municipal Health Directorate will ensure that this clinic is adequately staffed, properly equipped, and well maintained to provide professional, respectful and compassionate care to all who access it.”
The clinic will offer counselling, reproductive health education, preventive care, and general wellness support, creating a safe space for youth seeking guidance on physical, emotional, and social health issues.
The ceremony brought together health officials, traditional rulers, community members, and key stakeholders.
