Six men sustained various degrees of injury on Tuesday morning after a Toyota Corolla plunged into the Birim River at Biremso, near the Anyinasin Junction on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.
The Bunso Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received a distress call regarding the incident at 09:04 hours.

A crew dispatched under the command of Assistant Divisional Officer Grade II (ADO II) Dacosta Amankwah arrived at the scene seven minutes later.
An eyewitness reported hearing a loud crash before rushing to the riverbank, where he spotted the black Toyota Corolla, bearing registration number GR 1425-18, submerged in the water.

Local residents managed to rescue all six male occupants from the wreckage before the fire crew arrived. The victims were immediately conveyed to the Hawa Saviour Memorial Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The vehicle was completely damaged, though officers managed to retrieve several personal belongings from the wreckage.
Police and fire authorities have launched an investigation to establish the cause of the crash.
