The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has unveiled plans to establish its first-ever YEA EV Delivery Brigade, a major national initiative designed to generate more than 10,000 jobs for young Ghanaians.
Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Malik Basintale, the agency aims to roll out a structured, regulated, and uniformed delivery service operating across all 16 regions of the country. As part of the rollout, over 10,000 electric bikes will be distributed to trained beneficiaries to support the new transport network.
To ensure the seamless operation of the fleet, the agency will construct electric vehicle battery charging and swapping stations nationwide. Additionally, the programme will provide specialised technical training for young people in EV assembly, repairs, and ongoing maintenance.
The introduction of the YEA EV Delivery Brigade marks a significant push toward expanding sustainable employment opportunities while strengthening Ghana’s transition to a greener delivery economy.
