The directive anticipates widespread protest activities and disruptions across various regions of South Africa.
In an official public advisory, the Mission strongly counselled citizens to remain indoors and avoid high-risk zones, including central business districts, transport hubs, and informal trading areas where demonstrations are likely to manifest.

Ghanaian business owners have been advised to close their establishments to prioritise personal safety.

Furthermore, nationals have been cautioned against engaging in confrontations or provocative debates, both in person and across social media platforms.

The High Commission emphasised the importance of keeping essential identification documents, such as passports and residence permits, readily accessible at all times.

”Refrain from engaging in confrontations or provocative discussions, including social media platforms.”

Members of the Ghanaian community are encouraged to remain calm, law-abiding, security conscious, and fully cooperative with local authorities.”

”They are also advised to rely only on information from credible official sources and to avoid spreading unverified reports or rumours.”

To ensure the safety of its diaspora, the Mission has established dedicated emergency hotlines for individuals requiring assistance or reporting incidents of concern.

Citizens are encouraged to remain calm, abide by local laws, cooperate with security authorities, and rely strictly on credible, official sources to avoid the dissemination of unverified rumours.

The High Commission reaffirmed its commitment to the protection and welfare of all Ghanaian nationals in South Africa, stating that it will continue to provide regular updates as the situation develops.
