The Ghana High Commission in Pretoria has urged Ghanaian nationals living in South Africa to exercise heightened vigilance and implement strict precautionary measures ahead of potential civil unrest.
The security warning follows a 30 June 2026 deadline issued by a group known as ‘March and March’ alongside its affiliated organisations.
The directive anticipates widespread protest activities and disruptions across various regions of South Africa.
In an official public advisory, the Mission strongly counselled citizens to remain indoors and avoid high-risk zones, including central business districts, transport hubs, and informal trading areas where demonstrations are likely to manifest.
Ghanaian business owners have been advised to close their establishments to prioritise personal safety.

The High Commission emphasised the importance of keeping essential identification documents, such as passports and residence permits, readily accessible at all times.

Members of the Ghanaian community are encouraged to remain calm, law-abiding, security conscious, and fully cooperative with local authorities.”
