Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, ADO II Alex King Nartey of the GNFS Public Relations Department stated that 12 fatalities have been officially verified so far.

He noted that these tragic deaths were recorded across several areas, including Tema Manhean, Alajo, Achimota Abofu, Achimota-Alogboshie, and Dzorwulu.

Expressing his condolences to the grieving families, he described the loss of life as deeply unfortunate.

“The confirmed number of deaths is 12, but there could be more,” Nartey said during the broadcast.

“These deaths were recorded in areas such as Tema Manhean, Alajo, Achimota Abofu, Achimota-Alogboshie, Dzorwulu, among other areas. We are still confirming more figures and we will provide an update when we get them. We know there may be more deaths, but like I said, we can confirm 12.”

In addition to the fatalities, the GNFS reported a building collapse linked to the severe weather, though emergency crews successfully rescued 13 people from the debris.

Alex King Nartey assured the public that the GNFS remains on high alert and is fully prepared to respond to any further emergencies as the situation develops.
