Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo has etched his name into the history books by becoming the first Ghanaian player named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
The achievement was confirmed at the annual PFA Awards ceremony on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, following a standout 2025/26 campaign for the attacker. The selection marks a major landmark for Ghanaian football and caps a transformative period for Semenyo since joining Manchester City, cementing his place among the league’s top talent.
Semenyo is one of four Manchester City players selected in the star-studded lineup, alongside Nico O’Reilly, Rayan Cherki, and Erling Haaland. O’Reilly enjoyed a doubly successful evening, also picking up the PFA Young Player of the Year award following a remarkable breakthrough season.
League runners-up Arsenal dominated the XI with five selections. Goalkeeper David Raya, defenders Jurriën Timber, William Saliba, and Gabriel Magalhães, and midfielder Declan Rice were all recognized after anchoring a defensive unit that conceded a league-best 27 goals.
The lineup is completed by Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, who set a new Premier League record with 21 assists, and Brentford striker Igor Thiago, who earned his spot after scoring 22 league goals.
