Gospel musicians are divided; some prevent the songs of others from being played- Debrah

The musician believes that there is a lot of backbiting and bickering in the industry.

In an interview with Sokoohemaa Kukua on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm’s mid-morning show, he stated that some musicians go around asking presenters not to play the songs of other musicians.

He explained that the way people grade gospel musicians makes it look like a competition instead of the need for musicians to see it as part of the contribution to spreading the gospel of salvation.

He noted that we have divisions because gospel musicians have not packaged themselves well. There is backbiting and bickering. There is no unity, so it is up to the young people who are entering the industry to change the narrative.

Even in the church choir, there is backbiting and competition. Our choir’s mission is to provide people with relief and comfort. However, there is division and competition, which does not help choirs perform well.”

He emphasized the importance of gospel musicians banding together and remembering that their role is to spread the gospel of Christ through music and not to see themselves as competitors.
