Prof. Nana Ama Brown Klutse, a close contender of Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has escaped an attack in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese Constituency.
The aspiring candidate in the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries was reportedly attacked by macho men allegedly associated with Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
Dr. Essien, the female aspirant’s campaign coordinator, told Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that the aspirant had gone to Moree to meet with his campaign team when they suddenly pounced on them and destroyed their vehicles.
He claimed that they attempted to attack the aspirant without provocation as well.
When asked how he knew the attackers were from Felix Kwakye Pfisu’s camp, he replied, ”We all live in the constituency and we know ourselves. We knew who each person belonged to, so those who came to attack us belonged to his camp.
Three suspects he revealed have been arrested and are currently in court.
”What happened was unprecedented,” he said, describing the incident as unfortunate. Let me be clear: we did not clash with Felix Kwakye Ofosu’s camp. The professor travelled to the neighbourhood to meet with her campaign team. The supporters of the former deputy minister attacked us and destroyed our vehicles out of nowhere. We had to find somewhere to keep our candidate and called the Police who stormed the area to escort her from the place”. They had not been provoked. The case is currently being heard in court, and three suspects have been apprehended”.
