According to information coming from Ngleshie Amanfrom the Greater Accra Region, Traditional Authority in the area has ordered a family to exhume their corpse, which had been buried without the consent of chiefs and elders in the area.

The bereaved family lives in Gomoa Nyanyano but sneaked their deceased relative to Ngleshie Amanfrom cemetery without notifying traditional authorities, thus the exhumation.

The body was exhumed and returned to the mortuary for preservation, while the family will appear before the Ngleshie Amanfrom Authorities to perform rites.

Per details reaching Rainbowradioonline.com, Chief Nii Quarshie Gbolor was the one who ordered the exhumation.

He is said to have described the act by the family as a sacrilege, disrespectful to the traditional authority in the area.

Aside from that, the bereaved family was accused of violating the ban on noisemaking and drumming as part of activities preceding the Homowo festival celebration.

The family had planned a simple funeral, so they went to the mortuary, performed the necessary rites, and then went straight to the cemetery.

The body had been in the mortuary for nearly a year, so the family wanted to save money.

Their desire to hold a simple funeral without incurring costs was cut short when they were ordered to exhume their relative’s mortal remains.
