Two students have been arrested in connection with a violent altercation between students from the Nkoranza Technical Institute (NTI) and Nkoranza Senior High Technical School (SECTHEC) in Bono East.
The incident resulted in eight injuries and involved multiple school properties, including police and instructor cars.
The police intervened, bringing the riot under control, and two students were arrested, with searches ongoing for further criminals.
Reporting from the area on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, our correspondent Nana Kwame said the incident occurred after male students of NTI visited Nkoranza SECTHEC , to propose to some female students, which infuriated male students of SECTHEC, leading to the riot.
Meanwhile, Mr. Isaac Amankwaa, the Municipal Education Director of Nkoranza South, has narrated that calm has been restored.
A committee he announced has been set up by the Bono Regional Minister, the Municipal Chief Executive, and the Police Commander to investigate the cause of the riot.
