Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has urged Ghanaians to prioritise peace and security as the country prepares for the December 2024 elections.
The MP made the appeal while speaking to constituents in Winneba.
He emphasised the importance of tolerance and restraint during the election campaign, urging citizens to avoid actions that could jeopardise the country’s stability.
He also urged political parties, supporters, and all stakeholders to work together to keep the country’s reputation as an African democracy beacon intact.
“December 7th will come and go. However, your relationship with your friend is important. We, the political class, from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to President Akufo-Addo, the former president running for the opposition party, and all the way down to us, the parliamentarians, are all friends. We are not enemies. “Don’t get us wrong.”
