The Ghana Police Service has initiated an investigation into an incident involving the convoy of National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
A statement issued by the police revealed that the convoy of the former education minister was attacked by a motor rider.
The incident, the police said, occurred in the Eastern region.
A preliminary investigation conducted by the police disclosed the incident between Akuse and Kpobg along the Akosombo Highway.
A dispatch rider from the opposite side allegely threw an object, which reportedly destroyed the windscreen of a vehicle among that of the running mate’s convoy.
The police assured the general public they would be thoroughly investigated.
