The Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has been appointed as the Majority Leader of Ghana’s 9th Parliament.
His appointment follows a resolution reached by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) caucus.
He would be deputised by Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, who was the former Deputy Minority Leader in the dissolved eighth Parliament.
Governs Kwame Agbodza, the MP for Adaklu, has been named the Majority Chief Whip.
Ahmed Ibrahim, MP for Banda and formerly the Deputy Minority Chief Whip, now assumes the position of Deputy Majority Chief Whip.
These appointments follow the recommendation by President-elect John Dramani Mahama for the NDC caucus to nominate Alban Bagbin as Speaker of Parliament for the 9th session.
