Prof. Opoku-Agyemang assured the participants that their recommendations would not be left unimplemented.

She also underscored the need to shift perceptions and approaches toward Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), considering its crucial role in national development.

The former vice chancellor argued that it was our collective responsibility to ensure that effective reforms are executed to create a more inclusive and progressive education system for Ghana.

She maintained that the Education Forum aligns with the 120-Day Social Contract of President John Dramani Mahama, which seeks to address critical issues in the country’s education system.

The Vice President said this in a statement in reaction to the Forum saying “On March 13, I attended the closing ceremony of the Validation Workshop of the National Education Forum. Key stakeholders in Ghana’s education sector participated in the event, including the Chairman of the Forum, Prof. George KT Oduro, the Minister for Education, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, and others. The forum aligns with the 120 Day Social Contract of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, which seeks to address critical issues in the country’s education system.

In my address, I expressed my gratitude for the many contributions to the forum. I also thanked the committee for their hard work and organization skills. I highlighted the importance of reducing political interference in education policy and assured attendees that their recommendations would not be left unimplemented.

I also addressed the need to shift perceptions and approaches toward Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), because of its crucial role in national development. Moving forward, it is our duty to ensure that effective reforms are executed to create a more inclusive and progressive education system for Ghana.”
