The Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment, led by sector Minister George Opare Addo, has inaugurated two technical working committees to oversee the implementation of its flagship employment initiatives, the Adwumawura Programme and the National Apprenticeship Programme.
The Minister has tasked the 12-member Adwumawura Technical Committee and the 14-member National Apprenticeship Technical Committee with ensuring the successful implementation of these policies.
The policies’ primary goal is to provide young Ghanaians with long-term employment opportunities.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Accra on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, the Minister George Opare Addo said, “This Adwumawura programme aims to empower 10,000 Ghanaians every year between the ages of 18 and 35 and to also help them launch their businesses, effectively lowering the employment rate among our young people. Through this programme, we are committed to contributing with the necessary support, in terms of training, financing, and special opportunities to make young entrepreneurs realise their dreams”.
