Peace Watch Ghana, a non-governmental organization, slammed former Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) Board Chairman Paul Adom Otchere.
The NGO’s Executive Director, Madam Nyonkopa Daniels, stated that after his bail from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), he should have kept quiet but instead appeared on his show, ‘Good Evening Ghana’.
Madam Daniels specifically criticised him for involving the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in the issue. She argued that even if the Asante Kingdom had helped secure his release, he had no right to comment on it.
“Paul Adom Otchere was reckless and unethical by mention names including the Asantehene. His claims were false and without basis. The other point I was also alarmed over was allowing her daughter to be in the video while he was mentioning the names of those contributed to having him bailed. He also went ahead claiming that some NDC top officials were part of those who got involved to have bailed but I want to state categorically that it is false.”
Appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.4FM, Daniels claimed that Paul Adom Otchere was fond of attacking people and making unverified claims. She recalled how the broadcast journalist “unfairly criticised former IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.”
“He was always attacking Dampare and today, he is here saying what? What he did was a childish behaviour. He should not have made the remarks he made. He is a liar and making claims just to flex his muscles. He insulted and harshly critised Dampare and called him emotional. But today here we are today, Paul is under investigation and cabmitbapplynany emotional intelligence to what has happened. It is clearly disappointing.”
Madam Daniels advised those close to Paul Adom Otchere, particularly his wife, mother, and other close associates, to advise him so he does not worsen his case.
