The Ghana Armed Forces has announced that the bodies of the eight individuals who perished in Wednesday’s military helicopter crash have been transported to Accra and deposited at the 37 Military Hospital in preparation for burial.

The charred remains, recovered from the crash site near Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom area of the Ashanti Region, were flown to Accra on August 6, 2025, aboard a Ghana Air Force Casa aircraft.

In an official statement signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the Ghana Armed Forces expressed appreciation to the people of Sikaman and security agencies for their support during the recovery efforts.

The statement also conveyed condolences from the Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Brogya Genfi, and the Military High Command to the families of the deceased, describing the incident as a tragic national loss.

The bodies were transported to the capital on Wednesday evening and taken to the Air Force Base in Accra, where a ceremony was held.

Christian and Islamic prayers were offered for the deceased, who lost their lives while attending to a national event. High-ranking government officials, including Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, attended the ceremony.

The helicopter crash, reportedly caused by a collision with a tree on a mountain peak, resulted in a massive fire that destroyed the aircraft.
