The Ashanti Regional Police Service advises ineligible applicants to refrain from participating in the ongoing recruitment screening exercise. Qualified candidates are encouraged to attend on their scheduled dates to minimize congestion.
The screening process, which commenced on Monday, is currently underway at the Police Training School in Patasi, targeting personnel with medical qualifications, degree and HND holders, as well as skilled workers.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Godwin Ahianyo, the Ashanti Regional PRO, approximately two thousand personnel have been screened so far.
The first phase of the exercise is set to conclude on Wednesday, after which the next phase will commence with the screening of WASSCE holders.
In an interview, DSP Ahianyo assured that measures have been put in place to prevent overcrowding at the various screening centers.
“Coming Thursday, we will be doing four extra centers, which include WESCO, Kumasi Sports Stadium, Kumasi Jubilee Park, and Chirapatere Bus Terminal for the WASSCE students,” he said.
He attributed the smooth progression of the exercise on the first day to the segmentation of groups.
The police PRO reiterated the need for unqualified applicants to desist from the process, while urging qualified candidates to report to their designated centers on scheduled dates to avoid crowding.
