The Management of Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) has announced a temporary 24-hour shutdown of the Dodowa Booster Station for scheduled maintenance works, beginning Thursday, 9th July 2026.
The interruption is intended to allow the company’s engineering team to carry out critical repairs to improve the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of the water supply system.
As a result of the maintenance exercise, consumers residing in communities served by the station will experience a total disruption of water supply or significantly reduced water pressure.
The affected areas include East Legon, Adjiringanor, Ashaley Botwe, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, Frafraha, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Ashongman, Dome, and Dodowa, alongside all surrounding communities.
Management has advised residents in these areas to store adequate water ahead of the planned shutdown and to utilise their available supply conservatively until services return to normal.
GWL assured the public that its engineers are committed to completing the project within the stipulated 24-hour timeframe to ensure the swift restoration of regular water supply.
The company expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their patience and cooperation during the service upgrade.
