During the launch, Mrs. Baffoe-Bonnie hinted at new strategic efforts to rebrand the Service and enhance the welfare of officers and inmates.

These efforts include providing state-of-the-art accommodations, mechanizing prison agriculture, and establishing an industrial hub for the large-scale manufacturing of furniture, pavement blocks, and paper products.

DGP Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Esq.) made a passionate appeal to the public to support the reformation and rehabilitation of inmates by patronizing prison products.

The new agenda also aims to modernize the administrative and security systems, implement waste management solutions, and leverage new partnerships.

As part of the launch activities in Tamale, the Director-General interacted with officers of the Tamale Central and Female Prisons to discuss the new strategic reforms and government support initiatives designed to empower the Service to better perform its mandate.

After the launch, she paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Tamale, Gukpe Naa Alhaji Alhassan Abdulai, to express her gratitude for his constant assistance to the prison community in Tamale.

The launch was attended by representatives from the Regional Coordinating Council, Legal Aid, and civil society organizations, including BasicNeeds-Ghana, Tolec, CSD Reforms, and the Coalition of Prison Evangelists Gh. (COPE). In their brief remarks, all representatives expressed their commitment to supporting the “Think Prisons 360 Degrees” initiative.
