A building collapse in Assemblies, a community in the Ga South Municipality, has resulted in the death of one individual.
The structure was intended to be used as a health centre in the surrounding area.
The horrible tragedy also injured four more people.
According to some eyewitnesses, the building caved in after the recent heavy rains.
The Municipal Fire Command in Kasoa arrived to rescue the trapped victims under the rubble.
Commander DO3 Mercel Kwami Avadu said multiple causes contributed to the collapse.
DO3 Mercel Kwami Avadu stated that the ground containing the construction, which is intended for a health centre, is flooded.
“Several factors could have led to the collapse of the building. The area itself looks like a water log land, and so I am sure it is one of the factors,” Marcel Kwami Avadu told the media.
