The government will do all it can to ensure that the work of the Electoral Commission (EC) in the conduct of the 2024 general elections is done smoothly, President Akufo-Addo has assured.
According to the president, his government will ensure free, fair, and transient polls.
He said this when he delivered his last State of the Nation Address on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
“Government is doing its part to make the work of the electoral commission smooth,” he said.
He also asked the electoral body to work with the political parties to iron out whatever differences there will be.
He further expressed confidence in the ability of the security agencies to ensure violent free elections.
Meanwhile, he has also assured Ghanaians that the government remains committed to taking deliberate steps to keep the country safe and secure.
He added that Ghana has not been affected by the extremism that is occurring in neighbouring countries because of the proper planning by his administration.
