A family has relocated a mentally challenged relative to the bush as her new residence.
The woman has been identified as Yaa Doris, a 40-year-old woman.
The incident occurred at Continental, a suburb in the Berekum East of the Bono Region.
Reporting from the area, Nyankonton Mu Nsem’s Nana Kwame said the family said Yaa Doris did not partake in any household chores, including the sweeping and cleaning of their bathhouse.
They also complained of her cooking methods.
Nana Kwame indicated that the woman enjoyed using ‘Kako’ (salted fish) for her meals, a situation they considered unbearable for them.
This, coupled with other reasons, made them dump her in a bush at Kato at dawn.
The reporter added that Yaa Doris was later found in the bush, and the Assembly member was informed.
Yaa Doris was taken back home, and the individuals who allegedly dragged her to the bush were arrested. Three main suspects, Kwame Peter, Maame Nkrumah, and Efia Badu, have been arrested and are assisting the police with their investigation.
The details available indicate that they would be arraigned before the court.
