The Majority Caucus in Parliament has conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the military aircraft crash.
The caucus described the incident as a painful national tragedy.
A statement issued by the caucus expressed its sadness following the military helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on August 6, 2025.
In a statement issued by Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga, the Caucus said, “It is with a deeply broken heart and profound sorrow that I, on behalf of the Parliamentary Caucus, extend my deepest condolences to the families, colleagues, and loved ones of our colleagues and distinguished patriotic Ghanaians.”
The statement praised the victims dedication, patriotism, and service to Ghana.
It indicated that the news is a devastating loss to Parliament, the government, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the country as a whole.
“Their sacrifice, patriotism, and commitment to duty will forever be etched in the history of our Republic. May their souls rest in peace,” the statement concluded.
The eight victims who lost their lives in the crash were aboard a Ghana Armed Forces Z-9, and they are:
Dr Edward Omane Boamah – Minister for Defence
Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed – Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, and MP for Tamale Central
Muniru Mohammed – Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
Dr Samuel Sarpong – NDC Vice Chairman
Samuel Aboagye – Former Parliamentary Candidate
Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala – Pilot
Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu – Co-pilot
Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah – Crew Member
