Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene has disclosed that significant parts of the crashed military helicopter have been retrieved. He made the announcement in a Facebook post.
This follows a statement from the Regional Security Council, which had asked residents in possession of the helicopter parts to return them for a cash reward.
The council gave residents until today, August 11, 2025, to return the parts or face criminal charges.
The ARCC had gathered intelligence that some residents were first at the scene of the tragic crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, and picked up parts of the helicopter and other belongings.
The council offered a reward for the items, which are crucial for the ongoing crash investigation.
In an update, the Minister stated that while residents have returned significant parts of the aircraft, they are still looking to receive more.
“Thanks to the community Youth. Significant parts of the craft and other belongings have been returned. Still expecting more by close of day.”

The Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council (ARCC) has urged individuals in possession of any helicopter parts or belongings recovered from the crash site to return these items.
According to the ARCC, intelligence gathered suggests that some residents who were among the first to arrive at the scene of the tragic helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, collected certain parts of the helicopter and other belongings.
The ARCC stated in a release that these items comprise metals, screws, drives, and boards.
A reward will be offered to those who return these crucial items, which are essential for the ongoing investigation into the crash.
However, the ARCC warned that this offer remains valid until August 11, 2025, and individuals who fail to return these items, regardless of their size, will be treated as criminals.
“Items could be handed over to the Unit Committee, Assembly Member, Municipal or District Chief Executives or any member of the investigating team on the ground. The ARCC is willing to offer a cash reward for any person who willingly returns any item. This offer will be in place until the close of day, Monday, 11th August, 2025.
Any person found in possession of such items beyond the above date would be deemed a criminal and will face the full rigours of the law. The general public is hereby notified,” the statement signed by Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Regional Minister, said.
