A 30-year-old man, Kwadwo Appiah, has met his untimely death in a failed drinking competition.
The young man, popularly known as the drinking master, went into the challenge with the hope of winning an undisclosed amount.
Reporting from Kumasi, where the incident occurred, Rainbow Radio’s Abdul Malik Anokye said he could drink Ghc30 worth of ‘akpeteshie’ without blinking an eye.
Our reporter stated that those present when he made the claim doubted him, so he asked them to buy the alcohol and deliver it to him.
Malik Anokye also revealed that the ‘drinking master’ was given Ghc30 in ‘apketeshie’ and drank it like water.
He then began gasping for breath with a protruding stomach and was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
Also, the persons who were present and participated in the incident have fled the area.
